week 4 Crayon boxes

Image
In this week's blog is on crayon boxes. Now from gaining much knowledge and constructing a box we beginning to move forward to understand something you are familiarized with. That something is the Crayola crayon box. Knowing the measurements and containment of the box. the crayon's measurement to knowing the interior spacing of the box. the goal was to construct 3 crayon boxes using the adobe illustrator software and  tabloid 11x17 paper to cut out and construct the crayon boxes. One simple crayon box design to hold 8 crayons in the box and make two variations of the box.   Above are the two images of the 3d example of a normal 8 across crayon box showing you side and front view . first Variation is rectangular prism container of the 8 crayon box. showing front and side view 3 images above are the second variation of a trapezoidal prism to contain 8 crayons. showing top, bottom and side.   Craft: all 3 boxes was sketched and mea...

Week 3 tabloid Boxes

Image
In this week's blog we create tabloid Paper boxes. Using Adobe illustrator for image masking and box outline design. The assignment as it is based last week's grid cube but instead using glossy 11x17 paper for the cubes as thicker paper material. one of the cubes will remain 2 inch and the other will be 3 inches just variety of sizes to work with on the material. Craft: the 2 boxes are crafted by computer design using adobe illustrator and hand buy using exo-knife or scissors and folding and gluing with Elmer's glue stick. Concept: taking the basis of creating a box and challenging the design to software usage and thicker material. Using variation of size as a challenge. Composition: the cubes are made in a clean outline measured sketch on grid papers both in the same center composition to form an symmetrical cross or lower case t form. the larger cube is measured a inch more but crafted the same way. after sketching you can scan the image as a place...

week 2 grid paper cube

Image
In this week's post is on a 2 x 2 grid paper cube. In of 3d design class we discuss the aspects of learning measurements and as a great example of using measurements to a object is creating an object with certain dimensions but as a challenge we are using grid paper as the material. This grid paper does not have thick material to it. its very thin. Above this description is the 2x2 grid paper on a grid table Craft : turning a 2d grid paper into 3d grid paper sculpture by hand,, exo knife, glue stick   Concept: the idea is to make a cube with the height and width of 2 inches with the grid paper material. Composition: making this cube require measuring stick (ruler), as well as a glue stick, grid paper, exo-knife or scissors. pencil or pen. setting up the measurement of 2 inches in both height and width in the multiple square on the grid paper .. 4 squares down and 1 on the  each sides of the second square of the four down ones to have equiva...
